Rob’s Story

I grew up in Binghamton in a close family of five siblings. We lived middle class lives on below-poverty income but due to my parent’s amazing sacrifices we never knew how close we were to that line.

Raised by Kennedy democrats who genuinely believed in the famous John F. Line “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” community service was instilled in us by example by our parents.

My father, a World War 2 hero decorated for saving lives and his ship in the war, served his entire naval career on one of the most famous ships in the war, the USS Barr in which the book “Movies on the Fan Tail” was written about.

My Dad was a Barber, and my mom was a stay-at-home homemaker. When I was seventeen my dad died suddenly and my world changed, the responsibility of being there for my mom and helping raise my 4-year-old sister became my reality. I put myself through college while working full time jobs and stayed local to be there for my family.

I have been married for 41 years and have two children and have lived in Endwell for over 30 years. My wife and I are both Registered Nurses and my sons are also in health care with one being a pharmacist and the other a Radiation Therapist.

I have been involved in community service my entire life. Coaching multiple sports, Scout leader, Church leader, and the John Mack Foundation President. After my Boys were on their own, I reached out to my town and asked what I could do for them. I was asked to serve on the Town planning Board (2 years) which started service and then moved on to Town Council (4yrs), Town Constable (4 years), and Town Supervisor these last two years.
